We charge a$750 (including GST) plus disbursements for a review of a standard employment agreement, which covers the entire standard process including:

  • Initial consultation with you and taking specific instructions as to the proposed draft Employment Contract that has been issued to you by the Employer
  • Providing written preliminary legal advice on the proposed draft Employment Contract and proposing amendments to same, which might be relevant and appropriate to your specific circumstances
  • Taking instructions from you in relation to the proposed amendments that we have advised you to make or that you require us to make- one set of amendments only are included.
  • Preparing a draft letter for you to issue to your proposed new employer

What is a standard employment agreement?

A standard employment agreement means:

  • an employment contract that is available to us in Microsoft word format or such other electronic format as might allow us to make amendments to same; and
  • an employment contract that is, as determined by us in our discretion, standard and requiring reasonable amendments to same, which might be relevant and appropriate to your specific circumstances; and/or
  • an employment contract in respect of which you do not require us to provide full and comprehensive legal advice (as opposed to preliminary legal advice).

Non-standard means an employment agreement means:-

  • an employment contract that is, as determined by us in our discretion, not standard and requiring unreasonable amendments to same, which might be relevant and appropriate to your specific circumstances; and/or
  • an employment contract in respect of which you require us to provide more comprehensive legal advice (as opposed to preliminary legal advice); and/or
  • an employment contract that is a complicated employment contract as determined by us in our sole discretion.
